One reader's rave

"Thanks for the newspaper with your book review. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this terrific piece of writing. It is beautiful, complex, scholarly. Only sorry Mr. Freire cannot read it!" -- Ailene

"ACTIN UP"

...says a license plate I saw today. And I think it was very punny, because the car was apparently driving out of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, right across the street from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I didn't get to ask the driver, but I'd be willing to bet she's a neurologist. "Actin." "UP." Get it?

Well maybe, but it could also be that it didn't have room for "ACTING UP". Or maybe they really wanted "PHACTIN UP". :-D

Perhaps. But next morning someone visited this particular page of my blog, and they did so from the domain chop.edu. Even I'm not sure how that happened.

Would that be the domain of Children's Hospital? Do you suppose that someone went googling for that name and found your post?

That's the funny thing. I don't think SiteMeter said there was any referring URL. chop.edu would be CHOP's domain, presumably.

BTW, I checked and found actin is in muscles, not nerves. So I suppose I should have said myology rather than neurology.
