"Thanks for the newspaper with your book review. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this terrific piece of writing. It is beautiful, complex, scholarly. Only sorry Mr. Freire cannot read it!" -- Ailene

Screening and Discussion: The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist

Two members of a group called PhillyPause, including author Louis Berman, have a table at the edge of Penn's campus today, where I talked with them for a few minutes while on my way to the library. They're organizing to raise awareness about the threat to human survival posed by the uncontrolled race to develop superhuman Artificial General Intelligence. I signed up to join the group and learned they're co-sponsoring an event next week at the Pen and Pencil Club. Register here.
