One reader's rave

"Thanks for the newspaper with your book review. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this terrific piece of writing. It is beautiful, complex, scholarly. Only sorry Mr. Freire cannot read it!" -- Ailene

On Primary Election Day, Protesting the Exclusion of Independents

I'll be indoors serving as a poll worker, but not far away (Tenth Presbyterian).

Informational Picket Time!

Independent Pennsylvanians and Ballot PA

When:  Tuesday May 20th, 2025 / 8:00 am to 11:00 am

Where: Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia a 18th and Walnut Streets

What: Friendly and fun public demonstration letting the public know that full voting rights for all helps us all.  We hand out informational fliers, offer an opinion survey, hold up signs like “I can’t vote today ask me why” and have conversations with voters on their way to / from voting.

Why: Independents can’t vote in PA’s publicly funded primary, the first round of elections. Let’s make our voice heard to bring PA into the 21st century.

Voting rights = healthy democracy
