Support the Humanitarian Guard -- Protect Aid Convoys

 A message from Standing Together, the binational Israeli peace and justice group:

Today we are launching the Humanitarian Guard, our response to the attacks on the aid trucks to Gaza. We will accompany the aid trucks, protect them as much as we can and document the right wing activists and settlers who are trying to loot them, vandalize them, and set them on fire. We cannot stand by idly witnessing this terror unfold! Hundreds of Jewish and Palestinian activists have already joined the Guard, and we need your help too!  Please consider donating to this action to help us get the equipment, legal assistance, and support we need.  SUPPORT THE HUMANITARIAN GUARD - PROTECT AID CONVOYS With humanitarian aid being limited into entering Gaza, Palestinians starving is becoming more severe. Far-right Israeli settlers are attacking aid convoys destined for Gaza, while Israeli police officers stand on the side watching the extreme settler violence unfold.  We are calling on citizens of Israel, both Jews and Palestinians, to stop this act of terrorism from happening, to defend humanity, and to bring an end to this extreme Kahanist government. With your help we are able to fund this action and bring greater support from the public.  We plan to escort the aid convoys and ensure they reach their destination and raise awareness for this catastrophe happening before us. Before this action, we will provide training to all volunteers who will assist in dealing with the situation and help ensure their personal safety.  BECOME A FRIEND OF STANDING TOGETHER Photo Credit: Oren Ziv This week is full of heavy emotions due to Israeli Memorial Day, Israeli Independence Day, and the commemoration of the Nakba (The Catastrophe). This year Israeli Independence Day falls on the 14th of May, while the Nakba is commemorated as usual on the 15th, which brings up particularly painful feelings for many of us. We are watching in real-time the falsity of the idea that this has ever been a zero-sum game and we are staring into the face of reality: all of us are suffering from the status quo. Acknowledging this does not mean that the suffering is equal - it just means that it is real. It is now more important than ever for us to acknowledge the duality of the experiences and narratives of our peoples, and hold the pain and contradictions near as we move forward toward a future of peace, equality and justice. Our demonstration last Thursday in Tel Aviv had gathered thousands of Jews and Palestinians from across the country demanding an immediate ceasefire agreement and hostage release deal in the biggest demonstration against the war since October 7th.
